Andy G. Fagan grew up on a dairy farm in upstate New York where he began singing and writing songs at the age of fourteen. He began his interest in music like many kids by listening to the radio and the weekly "Top 40" and became a big fan of popular singers of the early to mid 1970's including Helen Reddy, Olivia Newton-John, Joan Baez, John Denver and began buying records on a regular basis. By the 1980's his tastes expanded to include Linda Rondstat, Pat Benatar, Bob Seger, the Eagles, Tom Petty, Hall and Oats, Journey, Jackson Browne, Prince, Don Henley, Stevie Nicks, and Tina Turner. He has a fondness for songwriters like Karla Bonoff, Mary Chapin-Carpenter, and Shawn Colvin. Although, he did try playing saxophone and drums in high school, it wasn't until the early 1990's that some of his friends gave him a used guitar and taught him a few chords. That led to Andy finally performing a few of his songs at a local coffee shop in Waverly, NY and gaining enough confidence to play at a few community events related to his work as a director of a nonprofit organization. The flooding that occured in NY and PA in September of 2011 inspired him to write the song, "Rising" and led him to connect with singer/songwriter/producer Mark Thurston who agreed to work with him to complete this debut collection of 14 of Andy's many songs.
