The Rio Group is known to revisit Bossacucanova Brazilian music with extreme competence. The trio formed in 1997 by DJ Marcelinho DaLu, bassist Márcio Menescal and keyboardist Alexandre Moreira, seeks to establish itself not only as producers but also as authors and musicians, and add a contemporary twist to the traditional sounds of samba and bossa nova.
When he recorded his first album, "Classics Revisited", the group has flirted with the acid jazz, bringing new clothing to the national classics. The album was released in Europe and the continent during the tour, the boys produced a pocket for a college radio show. So was born the embryo of the second project: simple, intimate and full of swing. Roberto Menescal invited to be partner and thus was born "Brazilianness", bossa nova repertoire with two songs and copyright. This album was nominated for the 2002 Latin Grammy for best contemporary album, giving a group presentation at the award ceremony in Los Angeles, along with Roberto Menescal, Ivan Lins.

The album features four songs copyright in partnership and still had more than special interests such as: Adriana, Simoninha, Marcos Valle, Roberto Menescal, Celso Fonseca, Mocotó Trio and many other beasts.
After several international tours throughout Europe, USA, Japan, Australia, Singapore, South America and Central and some in Brazil, the Bossacucanova mounts the show "Live - A celebration of 50 years of Bossa Nova," in honor of the anniversary of genre. The project group thinks a show that had an important difference: not only rescue and tell the history of the genre, as showing how the new generation of MPB is doing the readings and developing a contemporary language for the Bossa Nova. "We also show that the history of bossa nova is the story of a generation that believed in the future and achieved a dream of bringing his music to the four corners of the world." The show also has the sound reinforcement Cris Delanno (Voice) , DadoBrother (percussion), Flavio Mendes (guitar) and Rodrigo Sha (sax, flute and voice).
In 2010 the trio is already preparing the fourth studio album, filled with classic MPB, music copyright and great cameos.
