Fidel Morales is a graduate from Conservatory “Amadeo Roldan” in Havana, Cuba, where he obtained a degree as an instrumentalist and percussion professor.
Musical Director for the popular Cuban salsa and timba band “Layé”. Composer of classical Cuban dance songs such as “La expresiva”, “Mamina” and others.
As a drummer he has played with musicians such as Giovanni Hidalgo, Danilo Perez, Gonzalo Rubalcaba, Nicolas Reinoso, Eddie Gomez, John Faddis, Gary Keller,Mark Kramer, Mike Orta, Lou Fisher, Luis "Perico Ortíz, Néstor Torrez, Erick Figueroa, Pedrito Guzmán,, Carlos Garnett, Marco Pignataro,Victor Boa, Dino Nugent, Ramón Vazquez, Carli Muñoz, Luis Marín, Charlie Sepulveda, Holograma Quartet, among others . He has also accompanied solists like Omara Portuondo, Gilberto Santa Rosa, Elena Bourque, Malena, Celeste Mendoza ,Barbara Wilson, Roberto Roena, Albita, Maria Martha Serra Lima, Basilio, Chichi Peralta.
On numerous occasions he has recorded with the Cuban Radio Television Orchestra and the Symphonic Orchestras of Cuba and Panama, among others. He was the assistant Professor of Percussion in Panama’s National Conservatory and Panama Symphonic Orchestra percussionist.
Fidel has taught several Drum Clinics in:
-United States for students from Bercklee University, New England University and Drummers Collective.
Fidel has been endorsed as L.P. Artist by the company Latin Percussion.
At the present time, he is a drum Professor at Puerto Rico Conservatory, active clinician, and also directs his own bands: Proyecto Nega and the Fidel Morales Quartet or Trio.
